Props on a great presentation, you really bring light on some good points where framework overuse and over focus is concerned. I've seen time and time again when new developers come onboard or even the casual contractor and she is overwhelmed by some new 'system' she has never seen before. Instead he should focus on getting the job done using good old fashioned common sense and best practices.
